Custom Treatments: Wavefront-Optimised and Wavefront-GuidedThe Allegretto Wave® Eye Q is an advanced laser system that offers a wide range of treatment options, allowing us to choose the best treatment for your unique vision. WAVEFRONT-Optimised In the past, most laser eye surgery patients were very happy with their daytime vision, but were aware of lesser quality vision at night. The reason is that lasers had less effect in the peripheral parts of the cornea. The Allegretto Wave® Eye-Q compensates for this by increasing the number of shots in the periphery – maintaining the normal, more spherical shape of the eye. This minimises the risk of poor night vision, glare and halos associated with other lasers. Some laser technologies induce aberrations (irregularities) on the corneal shape profile during treatment. The Allegretto Wave® Eye-Q laser has been developed to minimise these aberrations. Our WaveLight laser platform uses special calculations to prevent these aberrations and so results in better visual quality. Unlike traditional LASIK, Wavefront LASIK treats both lower and higher-order aberrations. This treatment is also more effective for patients with large pupils. Wavefront-Guided Treatments Wavefront technology is so revolutionary because it can improve not only how much you can see (measured by the standard 20/20 eye chart), but also how well you can see, in terms of contrast sensitivity and fine detail. This translates into a reduced risk of post-LASIK complications, such as glare, halos, and difficulty with night vision.
The advantage of Wavefront-Guided Treatments lies in the area of quality of vision: • Greater chance of achieving 20/20 vision • Greater chance of achieving better than 20/20 vision • Reduced chance of losing best-corrected vision • Reduced chance of losing visual quality or contrast sensitivity • Reduced chance of night-vision disturbances and glare
