| Below are some letters from Cataract and Refractive Surgeon Dr Rick Wolfe and Senior Optometrist Nelson Oliver.
Dr Rick Wolfe MB, BS, FRACS, FRANZCO
Cataract and Refractive Surgeon.
The history of Refractive Surgery goes back to the 1800s. But only since the development of the excimer laser has refractive surgery become a safe, effective and predictable option for your patients. As optometrists, the primary eye-care providers in the community, you are best placed to advise your patients about their refractive options.
At Vista Laser Eye Clinics we understand that you want to maintain an ongoing relationship with your patients. This relationship does not end when a patient has refractive surgery. Ongoing eye examinations will always be required to maintain good ocular health, and continued management of refractive and ocular changes with age. At Vista we are committed to maintaining this relationship. We offer you the option of performing your patient’s post-operative follow-up or allowing us to perform the post-operative assessments until we discharge your patient back to your care.
At Vista we have been developing and refining refractive techniques since I opened the first clinic in 1996. We are proud of the care that we take with each patient and of the results that we achieve. I am confident that if you refer your patients to us for their refractive care you will be just as happy with their management.
Dr Rick Wolfe
Nelson Oliver B. App. Sc. – Optom (Hons)
Senior Optometrist
As an optometrist, like you I care about maintaining and improving the vision of my patients. At Vista we have a unique opportunity to improve vision safely and effectively, by working with a dedicated team that includes consultants, nurses, orthoptists, optometrists and one of the most experienced refractive surgeons in the country. I get to see not only the great visual results of our patients, but also, and most importantly, how refractive surgery at Vista Laser Eye Clinics can change a person’s life.
Many other optometrists who currently refer their patients to Vista also have the same opportunity to be a part of that change.
Whether it be the contact lens intolerant patient, the non-compliant contact lens patient or simply the patient who finds wearing glasses or contact lenses frustrating, all of these patients and many more can have their lifestyles improved for the better.
Your patients look to you to advise them about the best options for their eyes and their vision. I hope that refractive surgery at Vista Laser Eye Clinics is one of the options for your patients.
Nelson Oliver
