The History of Vistaeyes

Vistaeyes was established in Melbourne, Australia in 1996 by Dr Rick Wolfe. A pioneer of laser eye surgery in Australia, Dr Wolfe was a foundation member and Director of the Melbourne Excimer Laser Group in East Melbourne at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, which formed in 1991 when laser surgery first commenced.

With a strong passion to provide the best in the industry, Dr Wolfe's vision included the best in technology and the ability to provide the latest in refractive procedures. He felt this was best achieved by developing his own refractive clinic. Vista Laser Eye Clinics was the first purpose-designed clinic in Melbourne to perform LASIK and the first to use a scanning spot laser. Following its success Dr Wolfe helped establish similar clinics in Canberra, Sydney and Kuala Lumpur following the same protocols established in Melbourne.

Vistaeyes is privately owned by Dr Wolfe and has no corporate shareholders, so the commitment of Dr Wolfe and his staff is directly to you. At Vistaeyes, the laser and associated surgical equipment are used exclusively by us. We only perform vision correction procedures that have been tested and proven to satisfy Dr Wolfe's high standards of safety.

Vistaeyes patients include members of Dr Wolfe's family, staff and their families, optometrists and laser eye surgeons, as well as professional Olympic gold medal winning athletes, who have entrusted their eyes to Dr Wolfe to meet the exacting demands of their sport.
