LASIK Xtra

Laser Eye Surgery

What is LASIK Xtra?

LASIK Xtra is an additional procedure sometimes performed alongside LASIK to help strengthen the cornea. During LASIK Xtra, riboflavin (vitamin B2) eye drops are applied to the cornea, followed by exposure to ultraviolet A (UVA) light. This process supports the cornea’s structural integrity.

The LASIK Xtra step adds only a few minutes to the standard LASIK procedure. It may be recommended for people with higher short-sighted or long-sighted prescriptions, where additional corneal support could be beneficial.

Your eye specialist will discuss whether LASIK Xtra is appropriate for you based on your individual eye health and prescription.
